Create Icon for Portable Devices
To create a USB's icon is not difficult. It's simple and bring to you some useful things.
First at all. Find an icon file (file with extension .ico). If you don't have, choose a png image file and upload it to http://www.convertico.com/. You will get a icon as you want.
Copy and paste that icon file to your portable device.
Press Windows key + R to open Run dialog.
Type in notepad to open Notepad.
Type in the following content:
Now, safety remove your device. Plug it again, open Computer and see your icon of your device :D
An icon is not only make your device become more beautiful. It's also protect your computer from virus. After you set icon for your device, if it don't show that icon, your device is bringing virus. In that case, don't double click on that device. Use an Antivirus tool and scan your device. If this scanning take time alot, just access it through address bar.
Name it as autorun.inf and saved that file in you portable device. Note that the text: "abc.ico" in autorun.inf file is the name of the icon file. Replace it with your icon's name.[autorun]
